Reflect on the causes, needs and forms in Humanity’s mobility and migration processes; Identify a single human race and the existence of crossed ancestors among all peoples of the World.
Description
Moment #1
The group is placed in a circle of chairs and, in the center of that circle, images of houses are placed. The facilitator then places a set of images[see link] corresponding to real or metaphorical houses. Participants are asked to observe all images and choose one with which they most identify. All participants are asked if, in fact, the images correspond to their idea of home – if the answer is negative, then the participant is asked to move and join the participant who has the corresponding image.
Moment #2
The facilitator then places a set of words [see link] that correspond to the idea, values and emotions of what should be the home of each participant. Participants are asked to choose 4 words (as if they were 4 walls of their home) that represent “your home”. After choosing the 4 words, you are asked to place the words around your home. Then all participants are asked if, in fact, they have the “word” they really need for their home – if the answer is negative, then the participant is asked to move and join the participant who has the word you want.
Moment #3
TThe facilitator asks the group if there is someone in the group who has not been born in this country or if they have a family living abroad and, from there, a reflection is developed with the group on migration, racism and xenophobia – this moment can be supported with different support videos [see link].
Notes
It is important to keep the visual metaphor of the World in the arrangement of chairs in a circle, supporting the other metaphor which is the change of place as an illustration of human mobility in the search for the right conditions for your life.
